Ex-Gridman is my latest comic adventure. I’m writing it. My wife, Noelle Brooks, is doing a great job of drawing it (digitally inking on a Cintiq). Robert Thompson (who lives in London) is co-creator with me, and helping produce the comic. Grid’s on Facebook and Twitter, too, so check him out. Our story:
At 33, writer-reporter Miles Glenn was on top of the world. He’d just won his third national television award for documentary filmmaking. He had a beautiful news-reporter girlfriend and a great apartment in Manhattan. But one morning, Miles lifted the rock too far, opening Pandora’s Box. It sends him skittering across America, with people trying to kill him. What he doesn’t know is that, very soon, he’ll be born again in the Pacific Northwest — as Ex-Grid Man. Living off the grid environmentally, professionally, and psychically. Running a renegade Internet news network. Aided by an army of citizen freedom fighters — a rag-tag army of bicycle anarchists, black activists, homeless vets, eco-terrorists, and a quasi-ninja mystery woman in a clear raincoat. Ex-Grid Man has a new assignment: report what’s really going on, keep your head down, and save humanity from world domination.
